More than a team
Our story
HERE COME THE STAGS.
Our veterans team is the newest chapter in that story: the same welcome, the same standards, for players who've got a few more miles on the clock and no intention of slowing down. New shirt, familiar Stag on the chest, and a squad that turns up every week to compete.
Whitehill & Bordon Veterans is the over-35s side of Whitehill & Bordon FC, and we carry the same badge, the same ground, and the same idea the club was built on.
The parent club was founded in 2021 by three friends who felt their town deserved a football club to call its own. The thinking was simple: there were good players in Bordon travelling elsewhere to play, or not playing at all, so why not give them somewhere local, competitive, and worth turning out for?
Four seasons on, having joined the Hampshire Premier League and won promotion in that first year, the club has grown into a real community set-up with senior and youth football, run by volunteers who live and work in the area.
1919
GROUND FOUNDED
In June 1919, Colonel Commandant A. C. Daly CB CMG was appointed the first commander of that rank at Bordon Garrison. The football ground on Budds Lane is named after him, and it has carried the Daly name ever since. More than a century on, we still play under it.
2021
CLUB FOUNDED
Whitehill & Bordon FC is founded by three friends who believed the town deserved a football club to call its own. The club joins the Hampshire Premier League in the North Division and finishes runner-up in its very first season, earning promotion to the Senior Division. A statement start.
2024
FIRST silverware
The club continues to compete in the Hampshire Premier League Senior Division and adds a cup to the cabinet, winning the ADFA Intermediate Cup. Senior and youth teams now give players across the town, of every age, somewhere local and competitive to play.
2026
THE VETERANS STAGS
Whitehill & Bordon Veterans is born, entering Division One of the Farnham & District League. The squad joins with serious pedigree behind it a new shirt, and new badge and a group of over-35s with no intention of standing still.
